Spruce Along The Yukon
Cheechako’s - Northern Artistry by Laurie Allickson September 21, 2006, 2:52PM

Spruce-dominated coniferous forests cover the majority of the upper Yukon region. These White spruce forests occur on warmer, drier sites on hillsides, in timberline areas, and along rivers.

The Yukon River is 3185 km long, the fifth-longest river in North America. It rises in Tagish Lake on the northern BC border, flows north and northwest across the Yukon and into Alaska, eventually emptying into the Bering Sea.
