This red flower, better known as the prairie lily or the western wood lily, grows across western North America south to New Mexico and North into the Yukon.

It is Saskatchewan’s floral emblem appearing on the Saskatchewan flag.

Rising above a straight stem with narrow leaves, this lily grows one to three large flowers. Each has six bright orange-red petals forming a large upright bell.
