We are gazing west across the delta towards the sunset over the Richardson Mountains 65 kilometres in the distance.
The days are getting short now here in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. It is 4:15 in the afternoon and the sun just set, nineteen minutes ago.
There is a 2ºC chill in the air.
This all adds up to an indication that, at these latitudes, winter and no sunsets or sunrises are amongst our near future prospects. Original photo by Vicki Boudreau, Vistas Digital Photograph
